A large hand-blown glass basket with a soft, powdery white tone and clear looped handles. Smooth and glossy to the touch, with a fine speckled look inside the glass that gives the colour some depth.
Likely made in Europe in the late 1900s, often associated with Murano glass. The surface effect is created by rolling the hot glass in fine white powder, which melts into the glass rather than sitting on top. Finished by hand, with a visible pontil mark on the base.
A solid, decorative piece that works well for small arrangements or as a standalone object. Has a sturdy, weighty feel in hand.
