grounded, weighty studio bowl with a pared-back, quietly beautiful presence. Thrown in dense stoneware and finished in a soft olive-brown glaze, the surface reveals subtle speckles and wheel-thrown ridges inside the form. The profile is clean and practical, with a slight inward curve at the base.

Signed “MJ 96” on the base, this is a one-off or small-run piece of European studio pottery, likely made in the mid-1990s by an independent potter. The heavy stoneware body, earthy glaze, and minimal ornamentation reflect the maker’s focus on function, form, and honesty of material.

Perfect for breakfast, serving, or simply to sit quietly on the shelf. This is the kind of bowl that gets daily use without ever losing its appeal.

CONDITION & DETAILS

All items we sell are pre-loved. Most are vintage, which means they’ve been used and have lived through time.

Each piece is sold in its current condition, with signs of age or use such as patina, wear, fading, or small irregularities. Many vintage items also carry production marks from the manufacturing methods of their time. These traces are part of what makes each piece what it is, and add to its character over time.

We photograph and describe everything as clearly as we can, so you know what you’re getting. Please take a moment to review the photos and description before ordering. If anything feels unclear, just reach out - we’re happy to help.
