A wheel-thrown stoneware pitcher with a sculptural lid and spout, signed and dated 1976 by Iso-Pahkala. The form is tall and elegant but weighty — this isn’t a decorative afterthought, it’s a real functional object made with intention. The glaze is a warm sandy beige, speckled throughout with deep brown and rust, deepening toward the base.
Made in Finland during the height of the country’s 1970s studio pottery era, this piece reflects the grounded, utility-first values of the time, but with real design sensitivity. Iso-Pahkala was a small ceramic manufacturer, and this piece feels like a one-off or artist-led production.
