This vintage tray is pure old-school charm. Crafted from warm-toned wood with curved edges and bentwood handles, it features a marquetry inlay of a cocktail glass, cherry garnish, and a smoldering cigar — the ultimate mid-century lounge moment.
Very likely made by Swedish manufacturer Mjölby Intarsia in the 1930's or 40's, this piece is part of a tradition of decorative wooden trays featuring still life compositions in inlaid veneer. The detailing is quietly impressive — especially in the curved smoke trail and layered wood tones — and the overall mood is just the right mix of refined and unhinged.
A rare find. Perfect for serving drinks, anchoring a bar setup, or simply adding a hit of nostalgic flair to a shelf or sideboard. Would also make a unforgettable gift.

NOTE ON THE MAKER – Mjölby Intarsia was a Swedish workshop known for its decorative marquetry work, particularly trays featuring inlaid scenes of fruit, musical instruments, or cocktails. Active in the mid-20th century, the company also produced furniture with similar inlay techniques — including cabinets and tables — showcasing their deep expertise in veneer craftsmanship. Today, their pieces are prized and collected for their nostalgic charm, fine detailing, and uniquely Scandinavian blend of function and ornament.

We deliver orders to Helsinki every Monday, so your order will be ready for pick-up at 15:00 on the next Monday after we've received your order. Orders placed on Sunday before 18:00 can be delivered to our pick-up point during the next day.
