A charming pair of pear-shaped shakers, made in Japan around the 1970s. Cast in nickel-plated bronze with a ribbed surface and subtle patina, they carry that sleek Art Deco-inspired silhouette that makes them highly collectible.

We recommend these as decorative objects rather than for seasoning your dinner: the inner plastic containers have staining from past use that we couldn’t remove. Perfect for adding character to a bar cart, bookshelf, or kitchen display.

✦ Height 7.5 cm
✦ Material: Nickel-plated bronze
✦ Period: 1970s
✦ Origin: Japan
✦ Very good vintage condition outside – interiors not suitable for use

ABOUT VINTAGE JAPANESE DESIGN
Post-war Japan became known for finely crafted everyday objects, often blending Western styles such as Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern with Japanese precision and playful detail. Even modest items like shakers were treated as design pieces, made to be both functional and decorative.

CONDITION & DETAILS

All items we sell are pre-loved. Most are vintage, which means they’ve been used and have lived through time.

Each piece is sold in its current condition, with signs of age or use such as patina, wear, fading, or small irregularities. Many vintage items also carry production marks from the manufacturing methods of their time. These traces are part of what makes each piece what it is, and add to its character over time.

We photograph and describe everything as clearly as we can, so you know what you’re getting. Please take a moment to review the photos and description before ordering. If anything feels unclear, just reach out - we’re happy to help.
