A beautifully old-school lidded dish with that classic hotel-silver silhouette: a rounded dome lid with a ring handle, and a deep bowl that feels both practical and quietly glamorous. The form is simple but striking — the kind of piece that looks good anywhere, from a kitchen shelf to a bar cart. These are surprisingly hard to find in this shape and proportion.
Made sometime between the 1930s and 1950s, it carries the functional feel of mid-century hotel and catering ware. The surface shows its age in the best way, with a rich, varied patina that shifts between deep silver, soft coppery tones, and cool hints of blue.
We never polish our silver-plated pieces, as many prefer to preserve the original patina - the quiet character that only decades can create. If you prefer yours gleaming, it’s easy to polish, but we’ll let you decide.
There’s a small dent on the lid edge, but the overall feel is structurally solid and beautifully lived-in.
