Vintage Finnish Raw Linen Towels in Herringbone Pattern - Set of 4

A set of handmade linen towels woven in a soft herringbone pattern. Made of traditional rohdinpellava: a coarse, raw Finnish linen spun from the tougher outer fibres of flax. The texture is naturally rough at first, but that’s part of the charm: it softens and relaxes beautifully with use and washing, just as good linen should.

Generously sized at 46 × 94 cm - larger than your regular kitchen towel - they work beautifully for kitchen use, the sauna bench, or as hand towels.

These were likely made in Finland during the 1970s–1990s, when weaving schools and small ateliers across the country still produced household textiles by hand. The calm, undyed tone and simple weave make them timeless, equally at home in a modern kitchen or sauna.

We love their honest, natural feel. Use them anywhere you want a piece of real linen that gets better with time. Would also make a wonderful gift.

Wash at 40 °C and reshape while damp. Shrinkage approx. 4%. Linen softens and becomes more absorbent with use.
