This small Pentik candle holder from the 1970s features a rarely seen layered green-brown glaze that shifts beautifully between olive, bronze, and dark espresso tones - a classic example of Pentik’s early hand-glazed production. The flared pedestal form gives it a balanced, modernist look, while the hand-thrown texture keeps it grounded in Pentik’s craft roots. Stamped on the base with the original Pentik logo - and still has the Pentik sticker most pieces from the era have lost years ago.
Early Pentik at its best: small-batch, handmade, and beautifully functional. An elegant and easy piece to mix - pairs perfectly with other Pentik stoneware from the era, especially those with similar earthy tones.

NOTE ON THE MAKER
Pentik was founded in 1971 by Anu and Topi Pentikäinen in Posio, Finnish Lapland. What began as a small ceramics workshop soon grew into an emblem of Finnish design – known for its earthy glazes, organic shapes, and dedication to handmade quality. Early Pentik production was entirely local and small-scale, with a distinct blend of modernist form and Nordic craft tradition.
