A mid-century ceramic bowl by Jasba, defined by its crescent-shaped form and arched brass handle. The interior is finished in a pale crackle glaze with fine, organic lines, while the exterior is glazed in deep, glossy black. The contrast is graphic but calm, with a nice balance between ceramic and metal.
The brass handle has developed a soft, warm patina that works beautifully with the glaze. Stamped Germany 654 on the base, it dates to Jasba’s West German production in the 1960s, a period known for confident forms and expressive surfaces.
Because of its size, this piece is best suited for jewellery, keys, or other small items you want to keep close at hand - on a bedside table, in the hallway, or on a desk. It also works nicely for wrapped sweets or chocolates. A small, practical object that adds texture and quiet mid-century character wherever it’s placed.
