Vintage Brutalist Bowl by Henri Keramik - Denmark, 1960s
Vintage Brutalist Bowl by Henri Keramik - Denmark, 1960s

A heavy, hand-thrown ceramic bowl with a raw and brutalist edge. The pale, textured glaze is punctuated by dark, almost primitive stamped motifs, giving the piece both rhythm and presence. The finish is intentionally rough, which only adds to its character.
Henri Keramik was founded in the 1950s by Henry Nielsen and his wife Else near Odense, Denmark. Their work often combined everyday function with bold decorative surfaces, and pieces like this show the mid-century studio movement’s love for weight, texture, and expressive form.
This bowl makes a statement as a centrepiece or simply as an accent on a sideboard or windowsill – its uncompromising presence brings depth to any setting.
