This vintage sculpture by ceramic artist Tiiu-Maret Lass is a lovely example of her 1960’s work, often featuring graphic and geometric ornaments. Unglazed off-white earthenware with handpainted details in glossy black and brown. Very demure, very mid-century. Made in Estonia in the 1960's. Beautiful little piece of ceramic art. Can also be used as a candle holder.

In very good vintage condition, some small (barely visible) chips on bottom.

NOTE ON THE DESIGNER: Tiiu-Maret Lass (b. 1934) is an Estonian ceramic artist known for her contributions to Estonian art. She is a member of the Estonian Artists' Association (EAA). In 1976, Lass held a ceramics exhibition at the Tartu State Art Museum, highlighting her active involvement in the Estonian art scene of the period. Lass has also taught art and worked as an industrial designer.
