A very rare, hand-painted Arabia jar with a leaf pattern in soft green and golden yellow. The rounded form with matching lid is compact and decorative, detailed with a knob. Marked with the Wärtsilä-era Arabia stamp, placing production in the 1970s.
Originally designed in the 1950s, this model is attributed to Kaj Franck (form) and Olga Osol and Greta Lisa Jäderholm (pattern). Due to the rarity of this piece, these design details remain unconfirmed. Signed “SH” on the base, possibly referring to the decorator. (If you have more info about this, please let us know!)
Regardless, it’s a hard-to-find and beautifully crafted piece that speaks to Arabia’s transitional years — where modernist design met expressive, hand-applied decoration.
