A tall, hand-carved stone tower made from fossil-rich limestone, filled with the remains of ancient cephalopods - squid-like creatures that lived in the oceans over 400 million years ago. The stone, often called Orthoceras marble, is quarried in Morocco, where layers of these prehistoric shells have slowly turned to stone over millennia.

The surface reveals beautiful natural patterns - both earthy and graphic - shaped and polished by hand to expose the fossil forms within: long, tapering shells suspended in deep grey stone with a soft, natural sheen.

This one is unusually tall and refined, with a graceful upward rhythm that feels more sculptural than geological. We love its quietly strong presence — a sculptural piece of natural history that fits right in with ceramics, brass, and glass, adding instant depth and contrast to any shelf or tabletop mix.

✦ Origin: Morocco
✦ Period: Late 20th century

CONDITION & DETAILS

All items we sell are pre-loved. Most are vintage, which means they’ve been used and have lived through time.

Each piece is sold in its current condition, with signs of age or use such as patina, wear, fading, or small irregularities. Many vintage items also carry production marks from the manufacturing methods of their time. These traces are part of what makes each piece what it is, and add to its character over time.

We photograph and describe everything as clearly as we can, so you know what you’re getting. Please take a moment to review the photos and description before ordering. If anything feels unclear, just reach out - we’re happy to help.
