Riihimäen Lasi ‘Pohjantähti’ Serving Bowl by Helena Tynell – Finland, 1980s

A light-catching serving bowl from Riihimäen Lasi, designed by Helena Tynell in the 1980s. The Pohjantähti (“North Star”) bowl is known for its crisp, faceted geometry: pressed glass shaped into radiating star-like lines that play beautifully with light. Decorative yet clean-lined, it feels unmistakably Tynell - soft, modern, and quietly glamorous.
This version comes in a pale, icy blue that gives the piece a fresh, airy presence. Lovely for fruit, salads, or seasonal serving, but just as striking left empty to catch and reflect daylight.
