A sleek and sculptural ceramic wall lamp by Bitossi, Italy. This minimalist half-cone sconce features a soft, matte white glaze with a subtle, textured surface—classic of Bitossi's artisanal approach. The form is both functional and elegant, diffusing light gently upwards for atmospheric, indirect illumination.
While Bitossi is best known for their vivid Rimini Blu series, they also explored minimal forms like this — often in smaller production runs. This lamp stands out as a rarer example of their ceramic lighting, blending refined design with artisanal character. Hand-finished, it reveals subtle brushstrokes on the inside and a graphic, textured surface on the outside.
This piece carries an engraved Bitossi stamp on the inside — a mark of authenticity. On the reverse, a Stockmann inspection label dates the lamp to 1995, when it was imported to Finland by the iconic department store. Combined with the FIMKO safety certification, these details confirm both its origin and period, offering a rare glimpse into its provenance.
The overall condition is excellent, though a very close look reveals a few minor edge chips that were too small to be photographed. Fully functional, it brings a quietly sophisticated presence to any space.
