A beautiful early set from Pentik’s Kanerva series, designed by Peter Winquist in the 1970s. The sturdy stoneware forms are finished in a layered glaze that shifts from earthy brown to mossy green, topped with a pale grey-white rim. We love the contrast between the crisp white interior and the rich exterior glaze.

These pieces were handmade in Pentik's Posio studio and carry the engraved logo used during the brand’s earliest production phase. A timeless, understated duo with a grounded feel — perfect for everyday use. Originally intended for serving sugar and cream, but these versatile pieces can be used for pretty much anything around the kitchen.

NOTE ON THE DESIGNER – Peter Winquist was one of the early designers behind Pentik’s signature look, shaping the brand’s earthy yet modern style in the 1970s. His stoneware designs balance rustic materials with clean, functional form — an approach that helped define the Pentik aesthetic for decades to come.

ABOUT PENTIK - Pentik is a beloved Finnish design brand known for its warm, earthy aesthetic and deep roots in Nordic pottery. Founded in 1971 by Anu Pentik, the company began as a small ceramics studio in Posio, Lapland, making it the northernmost ceramics factory in the world. We love the way early Pentik pieces capture the spirit of the 1970’s with their raw textures, natural glazes, and sculptural forms inspired by the northern landscape. Long before “slow design” became a thing, Pentik was creating timeless pieces that combined craftsmanship and high quality materials. Today, vintage Pentik ceramics are sought-after collectibles, treasured for their authenticity and quiet character.
