A beautiful early set of Pentik stoneware cups from the 'Kanerva' series, designed by Peter Winqvist and crafted in Lapland during the 1970's. The layered glaze shifts between earthy browns and soft mossy greens—each cup with its own subtle variation, making every piece one-of-a-kind.
These cups carry Pentik’s first engraved logo on the base, marking them as part of the studio’s earliest production. With their simple, honest form and raw, organic glaze, they reflect the essence of Nordic ceramic traditions—functional, beautiful, and made to last.
We love this simple ear-less cup—it’s easy to stack, sturdy, and made for everyday use. Perfect for coffee, tea, or even serving small desserts, this set brings warmth and Finnish craftsmanship to your table. We’ve carefully collected and matched these five cups from the same early production period. We’re all about finding the perfect sets with just the right nuances, in excellent condition, ready to be used and loved for years.

NOTE ON THE DESIGNER - Peter Winquist (b. 1943) was one of Pentik’s first ceramic artists, known for his clean, practical forms and subtle Nordic palette. His designs helped shape the identity of Pentik during its formative years in the 1970's.
ABOUT PENTIK - Pentik is a beloved Finnish design brand known for its warm, earthy aesthetic and deep roots in Nordic pottery. Founded in 1971 by Anu Pentik, the company began as a small ceramics studio in Posio, Lapland, making it the northernmost ceramics factory in the world. We love the way early Pentik pieces capture the spirit of the 1970’s with their raw textures, natural glazes, and sculptural forms inspired by the northern landscape. Long before “slow design” became a thing, Pentik was creating timeless pieces that combined craftsmanship and high quality materials. Today, vintage Pentik ceramics are sought-after collectibles, treasured for their authenticity and quiet character.
