A beautiful little stoneware creamer from the Kanerva series, designed by Peter Winquist for Pentik in the mid-1970s. The glaze features soft sandy speckles and a gentle gradient from earthy beige to cool blue and white. Handcrafted in Posio and faintly marked with Pentik’s original logo on the underside. We love the simple form and the earthy glaze, and the fact that each of these early pieces is subtly unique.
Sturdy, charming, and ideal for everyday use. Perfect for coffee milk, salad dressing, or a drizzle of syrup.

NOTE ON THE DESIGNER – Peter Winquist (b. 1943) was one of Pentik’s first ceramic artists, known for his clean, practical forms and subtle Nordic palette. His designs helped shape the identity of Pentik during its formative years in the 1970s.
ABOUT PENTIK – Founded in 1971 in Posio, Lapland, Pentik is still the northernmost ceramics studio in the world. The early years were defined by chunky forms, organic textures, and natural glazes inspired by the northern landscape. We love original Pentik for its subtle Nordic groove — raw, functional, and surprisingly modern. Most of our favorite pieces were handcrafted in the 1970s, when production was small-scale and hands-on. These early works are now sought after by collectors and fans of mid-century Finnish ceramics, and many are getting hard to find. What’s best about them? They were made to last — and after all this time, they still hold up in everyday use.
