A bold mid-century candle holder by Jasba, full of that unmistakable West German studio pottery attitude. Thrown in dark, weighty stoneware and finished with a glossy red glaze that pools, drips, and settles at the rim, it plays beautifully against the matte black body below. Strong contrast, confident form, no shyness whatsoever.
This is classic 1970s Jasba: heavy clay, generous proportions, and expressive glazing that was never meant to be subtle. The red glaze shifts from oxblood to darker, wine-like tones, catching the light differently as you move around it. The loop handle adds a graphic note and makes it easy to carry from shelf to table. Made to be seen, handled, and used.
Brings instant mood. There’s a bit of drama, a bit of warmth, and a very mid-century sense of ease. Perfect if you’re drawn to West German ceramics, but just as good if you simply want a candle holder with presence.
