‘Kalinka’ Glasses by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala, Finland 1970s – Set of 6

A set of six textured tumblers from the Kalinka series, designed by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala. The form is clean and geometric, with a crisp hexagonal base that opens upward into soft curves. The pressed surface texture gives a sense of icy tactility — classic Sarpaneva, where nature and modernism meet in everyday use.

Designed in the late 1970s and produced until the late 1990s, Kalinka was part of Iittala’s effort to combine expressive design with practicality. Sarpaneva’s fingerprints are all over this series: the interplay of glass and light, the Nordic sculptural clarity, the refusal to separate art from function.
