A beautifully compact brown glass vase from the Löytö series by Iittala. The shape is simple and confident with a thick base and flared profile. The amber-brown glass subtly deepens toward the bottom.

Produced by Iittala in the 1950s, the Löytö series was long attributed to Tapio Wirkkala. Recent research suggests that while the concept may have stemmed from Wirkkala’s ideas, the actual production designs were created by Erkki Vesanto and Saara Sappinen.

Sturdy and satisfyingly heavy, this small vase is a fine example of post-war Finnish glass design — functional, modern, and quietly expressive. Perfect on its own or paired with others.
