A minimalist Danish classic with a functional twist. This hand-blown ice bucket, designed by Jacob E. Bang for Holmegaard in the 1960s, features light grey glass with subtle ridging and a beautifully curved rattan-wrapped handle. The proportions are elegant and understated, with applied glass lug handles that add both character and practicality. Signed on the base.
A nice choice for hosting — use it as an ice bucket, a wine cooler for small bottles, or simply as a sculptural object on your bar or shelf. Mid-century Holmegaard pieces like this are getting harder to find. The overall appearance is beautiful and the rattan handle is intact with perfect patina, but there are some light marks on the glass, visible upon closer examination.
