A charming glass pear by Eino Piipponen, beautifully made and full of quiet character. The form is softly rounded and slightly wonky in the best way - unmistakably a pear, but clearly treated as a small sculptural object rather than a literal one.
The colour is a gentle, fresh green with fine speckling in the glass that gives it depth and a slightly misty look. Light passes through it slowly, picking up subtle shifts in tone as you move around it.
An easy piece to live with. It works just as well on a shelf, a side table, or a windowsill - adding a bit of colour, a bit of personality, and that satisfying feeling of a well-made object. Simple, friendly, and quietly lovely.
