A vivid ceramic art tile depicting a stylised apple, rendered in layered glazes of ochre, rust, and deep blue. The surface has a richly textured crackle effect, with saturated colour bleeding softly into the background. A delicate balance of folk-inspired charm and graphic abstraction. Designed to be hung on the wall - groove on the back.
Made by Arabia and signed by the artist, this is one of a rare series of fruit-themed ceramic art tiles by Gunvor Olin (later Gunvor Olin-Grönqvist). Made in the 1960s or early 1970s, these hand-finished tiles reflect Olin’s distinctive visual language: organic subjects, expressive surfaces, and a modernist eye for form. A collectible piece of Finnish ceramic art with everyday warmth and striking visual depth.

NOTE ON THE ARTIST - Gunvor Olin-Grönqvist (1928–2005) was one of the most beloved designers at Arabia, where she worked from 1951 into the 1990s. Best known for her Kosmos and Fructus series, she also produced many hand-finished art pieces – including these tiles – which merged Nordic folk influences with modernist abstraction.
