Glass Fish by Jacobino – Kumela, Finland 1960’s

Designed by Italian-Finnish designer Armando Jacobino for Finnish glassworks Kumela in the 1960's, this clear glass sculpture balances whimsy with refined craftsmanship. NOTE ON THE MANUFACTURER – Kumela was a Finnish glassworks active from the 1930's to the late 1970's, known for its high-quality art glass and small production runs. While perhaps less internationally known than giants like Iittala or Nuutajärvi, Kumela nurtured distinctive designers and had a playful side, often experimenting with figurative forms and expressive shapes — just like this glass fish.
