A rare find from the depths of Finnish glass design — this textured glass plate was designed by Tauno Wirkkala for Muurla in the 1970's. On the surface it’s smooth and clear, but flip it over and you’ll find a wild, almost hypnotic honeycomb structure, catching and scattering light like a natural crystal formation. Understated but full of pure Finnish magic.
Tauno Wirkkala, the lesser-known but equally talented brother of Tapio Wirkkala, developed his own experimental style at Finnish glass studios like Muurla. His work blends everyday functionality with raw, expressive design — and pieces like this are only now starting to get the recognition they deserve. We’re especially fond of his honeycomb-textured objects: true hidden gems that feel destined to become future collector favorites.
We love this unique piece as a centerpiece for fruit or snacks, a platform for favorite objects, or just a beautiful object on its own.

We ship mostly with the Finnish Post Office, but please contact us if you prefer another option.

Pick up your order from our pick-up point at Nomen Nescio during their opening hours. We deliver orders to Helsinki every Monday, so your order will be ready for pick-up at 15:00 on the next Monday after we've received your order. Orders placed on Sunday before 18:00 can be delivered to our pick-up point during the next day.
