An unusually refined, beautifully crafted rattan tray. This vintage piece features a curved handle, sturdy triangle frame, and a round base with clear glass instead of the more common frosted type. The rattan has aged to a rich honey tone, and the proportions feel just right — large enough to serve with, small enough to display easily.
Finnish rattan objects from the mid-20th century were typically handmade or produced in small workshops. Natural rattan develops a warm patina over time, and its strength and flexibility make it ideal for both structure and decoration. These trays - used for pastries as a part of casual hosting - represent a simple but enduring kind of everyday design.
