NOTE ON THE ARTIST – Teppo Honkala is a Finnish ceramicist known for his elemental, deeply grounded approach to pottery. Honkala’s work is driven by raw texture, natural surfaces, and the quiet rituals of everyday use. Based in Pöytyä, Finland, he creates his pieces in a wood-fired kiln using techniques rooted in Japanese and Nordic ceramic traditions. In his own words, Honkala sees the potter’s studio as “the very core of humanity” – a place for slow making and connection to materials.
