A substantial, hand-built ceramic sculpture by Jaana Sarpaniemi, formed through slow, deliberate shaping and finished in a glossy white glaze. The form is organic, with rounded rises, gentle depressions, and an overall sense of movement rather than symmetry.
We love the quietly expressive glaze. The glossy white glaze pools and settles unevenly, while a soft, sorbet-lemon glaze drifts across the surface in thin, translucent runs. Light catches on the curves and hollows, shifting as you move around the piece. It’s visibly handmade, with a weight and density that ground it firmly in physical space.
This is a sculptural work with real presence. Placed low on a shelf, a sideboard, or a plinth, it shifts the rhythm of a space through weight, surface, and form alone. Calm, confident, and materially assured - a piece that invites looking, not explanation.
