Cobalt Blue Ribbed Vase by Kupittaan Savi 1960's
Cobalt Blue Ribbed Vase by Kupittaan Savi 1960's

A striking cobalt blue vase likely from the 1960's, manufactured by Kupittaan Savi. Clean and confident form, with a subtly sculptural silhouette and horizontal ribbing that plays beautifully with the high-gloss glaze.
Possibly designed by Orvokki “Okki” Laine or Lauri Tuomi, two of Kupittaan Savi’s most influential post-war designers known for their modernist approach to traditional ceramic techniques.
Like many Kupittaan Savi pieces, this vase carries the marks of studio production — a certain ruggedness to the base, tiny glaze skips, and that handmade feel that makes each object unique. These aren't flaws, just part of the charm of handmade mid-century ceramics.
A timeless and bold piece of Finnish ceramic design - equally at home in a minimal interior or a more eclectic mix.
