A beautifully handthrown stoneware vase from the Arabia Art Department, crafted and signed by ceramic artist Paul Envalds in the early 1970's. The round, compact form is balanced by a softly textured glaze that shifts between earthy tones of ochre and burnt sienna. A quietly expressive piece of Finnish ceramic art — equally suited for display or everyday use.

A timeless example of Arabia’s high-quality studio production from its golden era.

NOTE ON THE ARTIST - Paul Envalds (b. 1935) was a Latvian-born ceramic artist who worked at Arabia’s art department from the 1960's to 1980's. Known for his minimal yet tactile vessels, Envalds favored wheel-thrown forms and earthy, textured glazes that reflected both Nordic sensibilities and Japanese influences.

CONDITION & DETAILS

All items we sell are pre-loved. Most are vintage, which means they’ve been used and have lived through time.

Each piece is sold in its current condition, with signs of age or use such as patina, wear, fading, or small irregularities. Many vintage items also carry production marks from the manufacturing methods of their time. These traces are part of what makes each piece what it is, and add to its character over time.

We photograph and describe everything as clearly as we can, so you know what you’re getting. Please take a moment to review the photos and description before ordering. If anything feels unclear, just reach out - we’re happy to help.
