A plump and gloriously grumpy ceramic bird, designed by Swedish sculptor Erik Engqvist for Jie Gantofta in the 1970's. The mottled glaze blends deep chocolate browns, rust, and caramel tones, enhancing the textured surface and chubby form. There’s something incredibly expressive about this little bird — slightly annoyed, deeply adorable, and totally full of character.

Part of a larger family of stylised animal figures made by Jie during the post-war decades, this one stands out for its sculptural weight and mood. A perfect piece for anyone who appreciates a bit of attitude in their folk art.
