A vivid blue pressed glass dish from Muurla, Finland, featuring a stylised peacock with its tail in full display. The design is cast in heavy, clear cased glass with a textured back and slightly raised rim, giving the whole piece a glowing, almost jewel-like presence. Small air bubbles caught in the glass are part of the original manufacturing process and add to its character.
Crafted in the late 1970's or early 1980's, this dish is a great example of Muurla’s signature charm: a mix of vibrant colour, strong form, and folk-art whimsy. The peacock motif is a more unusual find, adding to the piece’s appeal and collectibility.
A compact but striking accent on a shelf, windowsill, or table. Also works beautifully as a ring dish.
