Vintage abstract lithograph by Finnish painter and graphic artist Tapani Mikkonen. Limited edition artwork, signed, numbered 24/30 and dated 1981. Black ink on cream-coloured paper. In it’s original high-quality frame, ready to be hanged. 

The artist's production is rather small-scale and this rare lithograph featuring his signature elements - black brushstrokes, whimsical lines - is a first-class example of his work in the early 1980’s.

In very good condition, some wear on the aluminium frame. The lithograph itself is a bit creased (see second photo) and has probably been that way since it was framed.

NOTE ON THE ARTIST: Tapani Mikkonen (1952-2014) is considered a pioneer and reformer of Finnish graphic art due to his monumental approach, often featuring bold brushstrokes similar to those of his early paintings. His graphic work is abstract, although in many it’s possible to sense a landscape or a figure - sometimes a person or an animal - emerging from the wild tangles of shapes and lines. Mikkonen lived and worked in Espoo, and received the Finnish state award for visual arts in 2003.

SHIPPING - We offer shipping in Finland for all items (except larger furniture and artwork). Shipping costs will be calculated at check-out after choosing delivery method, delivery location and payment method. We'll do our best to ship your order on the next working day, but if our team is swamped with orders, it might take up to 3-4 work days - please bear with us! We ship mostly with the Finnish Post Office, but please contact us if you prefer another option.

Pick up your order from our pick-up point at Nomen Nescio during their opening hours. We deliver orders to Helsinki every Monday, so your order will be ready for pick-up at 15:00 on the next Monday after we've received your order. Orders placed on Sunday before 18:00 can be delivered to our pick-up point during the next day.
