Art Glass Grape Cluster - Likely Swedish Studio Glass, 1980s

A stunning art glass sculpture in the form of a grape cluster, hand-blown in deep grey-blue glass with a playful twisted stem. The surface is covered in rounded, bubble-like forms that catch light beautifully from every angle. Solid and heavy in the hand - this is definitely one of the finest pieces of glass fruit we’ve ever seen.

Likely Swedish, dating to the 1980s or 1990s, from the same expressive glass tradition that produced the works of Gunnel Sahlin, Monica Backström and other Kosta Boda–era designers. The organic form, subtle colour and sculptural energy all point to the golden age of Nordic studio glass, when craftsmanship and experimentation went hand in hand.
