A cobalt-blue ceramic bowl with a sculpted nude figure at its center, designed by Swedish sculptor Einar Luterkort for Uppsala Ekeby in the 1930's. This expressive piece combines surreal charm with the sleek, sculptural elegance typical of Scandinavian Art Deco. The doll-like figure is full of attitude and balance, her matte white body perched atop a glossy, deep-blue base with soft scalloped edges. Featuring the clean lines and sculptural elegance characteristic of the era, this piece showcases Luterkort’s refined sense of form and his playful, modernist touch. A rare and visually bold piece — equal parts artwork and object.
Crafted at the height of Uppsala Ekeby’s early output, this bowl reflects the artistic experimentation of the interwar years. Whether you collect Art Deco, Swedish ceramics, or simply want a showstopping centerpiece with soul, this one delivers. Display it as a sculptural art object or let it bring an unexpected twist to your tabletop.
