Arabia ‘Korpi’ Deep Plates by Göran Bäck - Finland, 1970s – Set of 5

A rare set of deep plates from Arabia’s stunning but short-lived Korpi series, designed by Göran Bäck in the early 1970s. True to its name - meaning deep forest in Finnish - the series features a matte midnight-blue glaze with subtle tonal shifts that evoke the atmosphere of northern woods. The clean GB-form designed by Bäck gives it a calm, modern profile that sits perfectly between function and form.

Produced only between 1973 and 1974, Korpi was part of Arabia’s move toward minimal, studio-like stoneware. These pieces remain extremely hard to find, especially as complete sets.
