A large ceramic pitcher from the Kaarna tableware series by Arabia, Finland. This one is special and stands out with its very rare colour, a matte blue-green glaze with vibrant brown striping. The form is simple yet refined, with a beautifully balanced handle, flared spout, and ridged texture that wraps evenly around the piece.
Kaarna was designed by Göran Bäck (form) and Ulla Procopé (glaze), and produced by Arabia from 1961 to 1971. This specific pitcher is stamped and dated June 1970 on the base. Unusually coloured versions like this one are highly sought after by collectors and modern design lovers alike. A timeless functional piece - use it as a water jug for the table or a striking ceramic vase for tall stems.

NOTE ON THE DESIGN - Arabia’s Kaarna and Mahonki series are often mistaken for one another — both share the same forms, but are finished in different glazes. Mahonki has a glossy brown surface, while Kaarna features a softer, matte glaze in brown.
