A beautifully crafted square bowl with softly rounded corners, side handles, and a luminous cobalt blue glaze. Made of red clay fajans, the form is both expressive and grounded — a perfect example of handcrafted studio-style ceramic from Arabia’s mid-century art production. The glaze features small irregularities and pinholes typical of this type of firing — part of what gives the piece its one-of-a-kind character.

This piece was made by hand at the Arabia Art Department for the ARA line, a collection focused on small-batch studio-style works by artists. Produced during the 1960s–70s, ARA pieces often featured bold glazes, organic forms and handpainted details. The form and glaze of this bowl point strongly toward Michael Schilkin as the likely designer.

Works beautifully as a serving piece for snacks or olives, but has enough sculptural presence to live on a shelf, sideboard, or table as a standalone work.
